Elizabeth was born in 1926 in Mayfair, London, as the first child of the Duke and Duchess of York.

2022: On Tuesday, September 6, 2022, Queen Elizabeth II met with Liz Truss, the new prime minister of the UK. Instead of making the usual trip to London, Her Majesty had Truss come to Scotland for their official meeting.
Queen Elizabeth II, the UK's longest-serving monarch, has died at Balmoral aged 96, after reigning for 70 years.
She died peacefully on Thursday afternoon at her Scottish estate, where she had spent much of the summer.
The Queen came to the throne in 1952.
