90 Dead due to Floods and Landslides in Nepal

Kathmandu, July 19, 2019:

The Nepal Government's Home Ministry has announced on Thursday that as many as 90 people have died due to the fury of floods and landslides in the Himalayan country. Moreover, 31 people have been reported missing by the authorities.

It is to be mentioned that Nepal has been seeing incessant rains for the past week or so. The Nepal Home Ministry has confirmed that 3,366 people have been rescued across the nation and rescue operations are still on in several parts of the country.

The downpour has been battering the country since July 11 and has affected 31 of the 70 districts in the country.

Epidemics have also reportedly broken out due to a lack of hygiene in various parts of the country.

The Nepalese Government has deployed 27,000 Police Personnel, 8,000 army personnel, and 8,150 Armed Police Force Personnel for the rescue operations.

It may be mentioned that the Nepalese Government has not sought any foreign aid and is overseeing the relief and rescue operations itself.
