Pointing an accusing finger at Amazon Founder and CEO Jeff Bezos of animal abuse, an Indian-American animal rights activist briefly interrupted Bezos’s on-stage firechat as she rushed to stage and asked him to do something about “chicken farms”.
The incident was reported in Amazon’s first-ever “re: MARS” conference where Bezos was in the middle of the discussion on Thursday when Priya Sawhney of Berkeley, California, entered the keynote session, went up the stage shouting “You are the world’s richest man. You’re the President of Amazon and you can help the animals”.
Citing that Sawhney had been inside “Amazon’s chicken farms”, she yelled at Bezos to stop the abuses of animals in these facilities.
As per media sources, Sawhney was from Direct Action Everywhere (DXE). DXE is an international grassroots network of animal rights activists founded in 2013 in the San Francisco Bay Area.
The security guards quickly managed to take her away as the packed house went silent.
