BEIJING: The Chinese government on Monday has stated that it is ready to build and develop “friendly relations” with the Taliban, reported news agency AFP.
It has also been reported that the Taliban has completed its takeover of the South Asian nation.
As per AFP reports, foreign ministry spokeswoman Hua Chunying stated, “China respects the right of the Afghan people to independently determine their own destiny and is willing to continue to develop friendly and cooperative relations with Afghanistan”.

Reportedly, on July 28, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi formally met a nine-member Taliban delegation which also included the Taliban’s co-founder and Deputy leader, Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar.
Wang Yi reportedly addressed the delegation about establishing a "positive image."
