India is currently under the fourth phase of the nationwide lockdown, which was enforced by the Central government on May 18 with considerable relaxation. The first phase of the lockdown was enforced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on March 25 for 21 days which was later extended to prevent the spread to the COVID-19.

The extending lockdown in India has triggered the exodus of migrant workers. Therefore, in a bid to give a relief to the migrant workers stranded in different parts of the country, the Central government has recently announced a massive economic package of Rs 20 lakh crore for the welfare of the migrant workers while the PM-CARES Fund Trust allocated Rs 3100 for combating the virus.
