An earthquake of magnitude 5.3 Richter scale was reported near Nepal’s capital Kathmandu at 5:04 am today on Wednesday, September 16.
India's National Center for Seismology informed that the epicenter of the earthquake was 48 km east (E) of Kathmandu, Nepal. The earthquake struck at 5:04 AM IST at a depth of 10 km from the surface.

On April 25, 2015, a 7.8 magnitude earthquake killed over 9000 people in Nepal and was one of the worst earthquakes in this century.
