Eight men have been found guilty of murdering Khashoggi, out of which, three have been given a total of 24 years in prison for their association with the murder.

The investigation stated that the crime was not planned and that it was decided at the spur of the moment. The deputy public prosecutor and spokesperson Shalaan bin Rajih Shalaan said that three senior figures, including the de facto ruler Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s former top adviser, Saud al-Qahtani, were cleared of wrongdoing during the trial.
