Ryanair Flight diverted to Faro following onboard altercation

A flight en-route to the Canary Islands from London was compelled to make an unscheduled landing on Friday due to a reported altercation involving eight individuals, leading to a tumultuous scene.

FlightAware.com data indicates that Ryanair flight 3511 departed from London Luton slightly before 8:15am for its routine four-hour journey to Arrecife, Lanzarote, in the Canary Islands.

However, tracking data reveals that the flight was rerouted to Faro, Portugal, touching down around 10:50am, which is 55 minutes prior to its anticipated arrival in Arrecife.

The Daily Mail UK conveyed a witness's account of a group of men, seemingly under the influence of alcohol, causing distress to some female passengers.

The situation escalated when a flight attendant tried to deescalate the situation but ended up being pushed over. The pilot then issued a stern warning to the passengers, stating that such conduct was intolerable and would lead to the flight being diverted to Portugal if it persisted.
Despite the pilot's caution, the chaos did not subside. Shortly after, it was announced that the flight would be making an emergency landing, the Daily Mail report said.
The Portugal Resident reported that the Public Security Police (PSP) in Portugal issued a statement confirming their intervention due to the "presence of eight disorderly passengers" on the flight.
