Nay Pi Daw, November 25, 2019:

The Myanmar armed forces have reportedly busted a camp of the Nationalist Socialist Council of Nagalim (NSCN), reports said.

Sources have revealed that the armed forces of the Myanmar army, which has been witnessing strained relations with the Naga armed outfit, launched an attack on an armoury of the outfit. Apart from a huge cache of arms and ammunition, the Myanmar army also seized a cash amount of Rs 3 crore, 70 lakh from the camp.

This incident comes amid the peace talks between the NSCN (IM) and the Government of India, which are apparently drawing towards a close. On October 31, the deadline set by the Government, it was announced that the two sides had reached an 'amicable understanding', however interlocutor R N Ravi has admitted that some "loose ends" have to be tied up.

Meanwhile, Manipur protesters, who fear that the "territorial integrity" of Manipur might be compromised, have demanded the Government to reveal the terms and conditions of the peace talks.

It may be mentioned here that several organizations have launched the protests in Manipur under the banner of the COCOMI, with the demand of disclosure of the talks between the Government and major Naga rebel organization, Nationalist Socialist Council of Nagalim (Isaak-Muivah), as well as discussion of the talks in the Manipur Assembly.
