On Saturday, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Bhutan for a two-day visit to the country. PM Modi was received by his Bhutanese counterpart Dr Lotay Tshering and others on his arrival at the Paro International Airport in national capital Thimphu.
A child presented a bouquet to the prime minister as he stepped off the plane in Paro- a valley town in Bhutan, west of the capital, Thimphu.
This time, he is visiting Bhutan at the invitation of the Prime Minister Dr. Lotay Tshering.
Narendra Modi will inaugurate the 720 MW Mangdechhu Hydroelectric project, South Asia Satellite, and RuPay Card.
Further, several Memorandum of Understandings (MOU) will be signed between the two countries. It includes an MOU on Aircraft accident and investigation between the aircraft investigation unit of the government of india and the ministry of information and communications, amongst others.
It may be mentioned that this is Prime Minister Modi’s first Bhutan visit after re-election and second overall.
