Sophie Grégoire Trudeau, the wife of the Canadian Prime Minister Justin, is officially clear of COVID-19, the disease caused by the novel coronavirus that has spawned into a global pandemic. Grégoire Trudeau was first diagnosed with COVID-19 on March 12.
Addressing the nation via a Facebook post, Sophie has said, "I am feeling so much better and have received the all clear from my physician and Ottawa Public Health."
It may be recalled that after she was first detected as a carrier of the virus, the Canadian Prime Minister’s Office said her symptoms were “mild” and that she would remain in isolation.
She was tested for the new coronavirus after she experienced symptoms upon her return from a trip to the U.K., where she had been carrying out speaking engagements. Sophie also came in contact with the renowned British actor, Idris Elba, who has also tested positive.
It may be mentioned here that after Sophie was marked as a carrier of the contagion, her husband, Justin, also had to go into isolation and has been working from home for the past couple of weeks. “Sophie is feeling great. My family is doing well, my kids and myself, … we’re all doing well,” he said, adding that he would continue to work from home, while also urging people to stay and work from home so as to mitigate the spread of the virus that has infected over 6 lakh people worldwide. In Canada, as in the rest of the world, people have been urged to practice social distancing.
