New Delhi, January 8, 2020:

An aircraft belonging to Ukraine International Airlines with 170 people onboard has crashed shortly after take-off from Iran’s Imam Khomeini airport in Tehran on Wednesday morning.

The aircraft, a Ukranian Boeing-737, was en route to Kyiv, according to reports. It crashed near Parand, a suburb southwest of Tehran. No immediate casualties were reported. Authorities said that rescue teams were rushed to the area where the aircraft crashed.

The flight was reportedly heading to Boryspil International Airport in Kyiv when it crashed. Authorities informed that the plane was on fire.

It may be mentioned here that plane crashes have increased in the past few days, thereby raising concerns over aviation and the authorities. Nine people were killed when a Bek Air plane with 95 passengers and five crew members on board crashed near Kazakhstan’s Almaty city on December 27.
