New Delhi, September 26, 2019:

The United Nations Security Council (UNSC) has allowed ‘global terrorist’ Hafiz Saeed, whom it had earlier banned, to use his bank account to meet his basic expenses.

The international body had banned the Jamaat-ud-Daawa Chief and Founder of terror outfit Laskar-e-Taiba following the 2008 Mumbai attacks. Saeed was held responsible for the 166 people killed in the attack.

On Thursday, UN accepted the request by Pakistan to let the JuD Chief to use his bank account for his personal expenses.

In a letter, UN stated that its Chair had accepted the appeal after there were no objections raised to Pakistan’s request for Saeed’s basic expenses.

According to reports, the UN has allowed Saeed to withdraw an approximate amount of $1,000 to cover necessary basic living expenses for him and his family.

It is to be mentioned that the Pakistan Government had requested the UN after it received a letter from Saeed. He had earlier worked as Assistant Professor in the University of Engineering and Technology Lahore for the period 1974 to 1999.
