Nobel laureate VS Naipaul passed away at his London residence, his family said.
He was 85.
Born on August 17, 1932 in Trinidad, the Indo-Trinidadian Sir Vidiadhar Surajprasad Naipaul penned more than 30 books of fiction and non-fiction in his literary career spanning over 50 years. He wrote his most famous novel “A House for Mr Biswas” in 1961.
Naipaul was awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature in 2001. He was also a recipient of Man Booker Prize (1971) and a knighthood for his contributions to literature in 1990.
