In order to keep your hair looking its best every day, follow this simple haircare guide. These dos and don’ts mentioned will help keep your hair in great shape.

HAIRCARE DON'TS :

1) STOP USING STYLING TOOLS : It is suggested that you should not use hair styling tools and appliances on a daily basis. Try and make sure to use as less heat as possible on your hair. The worst thing that these heating tools do to your hair is make the ends of your hair extremely rough which also results in breakage and split ends. This hampers your hair growth and volume.Just in case it is very necessary to use these tools, make sure to use a good heat resistant serum to protect the hair as much as possible.

2) STAY AWAY FROM CHEMICALS : Chemicals ends up ruining your hair. People avoid permanent hair straightening or smoothening which makes the hair really brittle leading to breakage and hair fall. Chemicals also make the hair really weak and you tend to lose the natural strength of your hair. Try to stay away from chemical treatments as much as possible.

3) DONOT SWITCH SHAMPOOS FREQUENTLY : It is best to stick to something that is good for our hair. When you like a particular shampoo, you tend to know the basic ingredients used. So whenever you decide to switch your shampoo try searching for and switching to products with similar type of ingredients. Trying out random shampoos for the sake of the brand will only ruin your hair.

4) DON’T USE HARSH SHAMPOOS : Chemically strong shampoos such as the anti- dandruff ones will dry up the oil from the scalp, the moisture that it actually needs. Always use mild shampoos.

5) NO SHAMPOO ON AN EVERYDAY BASIS : People with oily hair feel that shampooing their hair everyday will help them get rid of the oil in their scalp. What actually happens is the scalp produces even more oil to compensate for the loss of oil.

6) NEVER COMB WET HAIR : Most of us feel that while our hair is wet it is easy to comb and detangle our hair but that is wrong. Combing wet hair will result in hair breakage and a lot of hair fall.

HAIRCARE DO’S :

1) MASSAGE REGULARLY : A gentle oil massage helps in moisturising the hair and scalp, stimulating the blood flow to the roots of your hair.

2) USE COLD WATER : After washing your hair, finish with a cold rinse. This flattens the hair cuticle, making your hair softer, smoother and shinier.

3) PROTECT FROM SUN DAMAGE : Like your skin, your hair needs to be protected from the harsh sunrays. Wearing a hat or scarf will help in protecting your hair from the sun.

4) EAT HEALTHY : We are what we eat. This is true for your hair too. Drinking adequate water daily can beat dehydration. This will help to flush out toxins. Coconut water is good for your hair too. Eat a lot of seasonal fruits as they have all essential nutrients for the season.
