IMPHAL: Police and security forces yesterday jointly apprehended two active cadres of the banned underground group of the Kangleipak Communist Party-People’s War Group (KCP-PWG) from Imphal East, Manipur on 30 Jan 2021.
"Based on specific inputs, security forces along with police launched an operation resulting in apprehension of two active KCP (PWG) active cadres," an official said.

The troops also recovered an AK 47 rifle, seven live rounds of ammunition, one hand grenade, and other warlike stores.
The apprehended individuals with recoveries were handed over to Moirang police station for further investigation.
It needs mention here that Laishram Mangoljao Singh alias Lamyanba Khuman, the self-styled chairman of banned Manipur-based Kangleipak Communist Party-People’s War Group (KCP-PWG), was arrested along with his associate by a joint team of Manipur Police and Delhi Police’s Special Cell in the national capital last year.
