Five persons sustained injuries when a lorry fell into a river at Jiribam on Wednesday.
According to reports, the incident took place when a lorry fell into Gorkhale river following collapse of a bailey bridge. The bridge collapsed the moment the lorry driver drove his vehicle.
The injured have been identified as Rajen Thongam,Manouton Leishram, Kh Dono Singh, Toiba Khonsam and Seram Loken. They have been rushed to a hospital in Jiribam.
The bailey bridge over the Gorkhale river on the road from Borobekra to Jattrapur was constructed under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana.
