With India staying indoors amid the dread over the deadly contagion coronavirus, Northeast India's pride MC Mary Kom, a six-time world champion, took to social media to share her journey with the world at large. Kom said that in this time of crisis, she is still focussed on participating in the Olympics (which be held from 23 July - 8 August).

"My focus is to bring a gold for the country. Despite several years in the business, and getting on in years, I still aim to earn a gold at the Olympics", the world champion said, in a video that she uploaded on social media. "Next year, Olympics is there, but I am preparing at home itself", Mary said, further adding that it is her "goal" to finally earn a gold at the grandest stage of them all.

"My preparations are going well, despite the quarantine. Spending time with my family now. After the corona issue is settled, hope to return to the field and start preparations again", the ace boxer added.
Talking on the lines of the lines of the coronavirus, Mary said that the doctors and nurses are working on the frontline to contain the pandemic and they must be appreciated for their untiring dedication. "The best way to help, Mary said, is to stay at home. Stating that it is not how humans normally behave, but the guidelines have to be followed. Facebook, Instagram can be used for fitness tips, Kom said. "Kindly follow the guidelines put forth by the Government, take care of your health", Mary urged the people.
Mary says that her earlier life was very "difficult" for her because she came from a poor background, and added that she had to put in a lot of struggle and hard work.
"To reach national international and Olympic level is nit easy, if you have will and you want to achieve something, you have to be mentally strong and have willpower", Mary advised. The champion boxer also said that people have to give a little extra.
Sharing about her comeback from pregnancy, Kom said that it is not an easy task to come back and achieve. "Comeback after pregnancy is not easy, keeping a baby for 9 months inside my stomach. To again come back and deliver is not easy", Kom said.

Mary, sharing fitness tips for women, said that the "basic exercise" can be done at home. "Exercise is of utmost impost for health. Till now, I am fit because I exercise regularly. I have reached another level, but if you want tips, you stay at home or anywhere do exercise. Run. Keep working", Mary Kom said. Talking about her own regime, Mary said that to exercise everyday and to stay fit is her job.
