Manipur has grown in strength under 'chowkidar' N Biren Singh: Anit Shah

Manipur, April 5, 2019:

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national president Amit Shah on Friday campaigned in Manipur for the Lok Sabha election 2019.

Addressing the gathering, Amit Shah said, “Entire country has pledged to be 'chowkidar' (watchmen) under the “Mein Bhi Chowkidar Hu” campaign. Even N Biren Sigh was actually a chowkidar as he was posted in the BSF. Under N Biren Singh’s rule, Manipur has grown its strength. Manipur has witnessed numerous bandhs during the Congress government. It has undergone 160 days bandh for which price hike reached the sky, but now the state has become free from blockades, and terrorists under the rule of CM Singh. This has been possible as Narendra Modi has been standing as a pillar beside him.”

The BJP President said, “In the 14th Finance Commission, for the development of the North East, the BJP has increased the amount by 258 percent from 13th Finance Commission. The Modi government for the first time organized North East Council meeting in Meghalaya for its development. By 2022, the North East will be connected to the rest of the country and there will be large scale impact in its overall development.”

“This is a land of a sportsman. MC Mary Kom has taken the country into world platforms. So, the BJP has decided to construct the country’s first National Sports University in Manipur. By 2021, Narendra Modi will complete the rail connectivity in the state. More markets for women of Manipur has been planned and other development plans for the people of Manipur and North East,” he added.
