CBI takes up fresh 'fake encounter' case in Manipur

Imphal (Manipur), Aug 25, 2018:

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has taken over another case of alleged fake encounter in Manipur by police, army and Assam Rifles personnel.

A total of 30 cases have been registered by the CBI till date.

On Friday, the CBI registered a fresh FIR against CDO personnel of Imphal West and 39 Assam Rifles.

The FIR has been registered in connection with the death of two persons identified as Nameirakpam Gobin Meitei and Nameirakpam Nobo Meitei. They were allegedly killed in a fake encounter on 4^th April 2009.
