Hailakandi DC orders probe into irregularities

Guwahati (Assam), 6 Aug 2018:

Hailakandi Deputy Commissioner (DC) Adil Khan has instituted an inquiry into the scams and other irregularities in South Hailakandi Block.

This followed District Development Commissioner (DDC) FR Laskar inspecting the sites and also the block office on Sunday and assuring a thorough investigation into the anomalies and punishment to those found guilty.

Laskar also met the Block Development Officer and Accountant and reviewed the status of work. He seized some documents during his visit to the Block Development office.

The DDC on Monday submitted a report to the DC in which he pointed out that government guidelines were flouted, resulting in irregularities and anomalies in some schemes and projects.

Meanwhile, Khan has directed Zila Parishad CEO-cum-PD of DRDA NKSK Singha to closely monitor and supervise the working of block offices and ensure adherence to standards, rules and guidelines.
