India Post suspends key mail services in Manipur amid security concerns
India Post has suspended three key mail routes in Manipur with immediate effect. The move follows security concerns and recent incidents involving the burning of postal mail.

The Department of Posts has temporarily suspended operations on three major mail routes in Manipur due to the prevailing security situation and recent incidents involving the burning of postal mail.
According to an order issued by the Office of the Superintendent of Post Offices, Manipur Division, the Imphal-Dimapur, Imphal-Mao and Imphal-Ukhrul mail lines have been suspended with immediate effect.
As a consequence, the booking of all surface mail services has also been suspended until further orders.
The order stated that the decision was taken following instructions from the Chief Postmaster General, North-East Circle, in view of the prevailing security situation and recent incidents affecting the movement of postal mail.
The directive has been circulated to postal officials across the Manipur Division, including Assistant Superintendents of Post Offices, Sub-Divisional Inspectors of Post Offices, the Assistant Postmaster (Mails), the Transit Mail Office at Imphal Head Post Office, and all Sub-Postmasters for immediate implementation.
The postal department said the suspension will remain in force until further orders.
