JAC calls ‘indefinite shutdown’ to protest St. Joseph School arson

Guwahati, May 2, 2019:

The Joint Action Committee (JAC) has declared a total indefinite shotdown with effect of Sugnu area with effect from 6 pm on Thursday, 2 May 2019 against the arson of the St. Joseph school building on 25 April by “some unknown persons.”

The JAC, in a press release, stated that the shutdown would be called in protest against the arson and on the failure of the authorities concerned to book the culprits on the dateline set by the JAC on the April 30.

The JAC has requested the people of the vicinity to extend their cooperation and bear the hardships in the interest of the students, parents of the school and people of Sugnu area as a whole.
