MANIPUR: BAN ON MALE VENDORS IN IMA KEITHAL

Manipur minister of Municipal Administration, Housing and Urban Development, Thounaojam Shyamkumar barred male vendors from selling goods in Imphal's famous Ima Keithel marketplace. Ima Keithel is Asia's largest all-women marketplace which dates back to 500 years. Approximately 4000 women traders sell goods in the market. Minister Thounaojam Shyamkumar said that strict action will be taken if any male vendor is found selling goods after the immediate ban.
