IMPHAL: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president of Manipur Prof. S Tikendra Singh had died of COVID-19 on today.
The senior BJP leader was undergoing treatment at Imphal's Shija hospital after he had infected with the virus and admitted in the hospital.
Singh was born in 1952 in Bishnupur to a political family and received his MA degree in Philosophy from Banaras Hindu University in 1973.

He was an Associate Professor at Maharaja Bodhachandra College in Imphal until 1994, when he voluntarily retired to join the BJP.
From 2006 to 2009, he served as the state BJP's general secretary (administration).
There is a significant rise in new cases of COVID-19 in Manipur as well.
In the past 24 hours Manipur records 666 new cases of COVID-19 and 17 COVID patients succumbed to the deadly virus, however 358 people recovered from COVID-19 so far.
