Manipur Minister Biren Singh reviewed the preparations for ‘Go to Village’ mission at the Conference Hall of Manipur Secretariat South Block yesterday.
The meeting was attended by Administrative Secretaries,Nodal Officers,DCs and Head of Departments and other officials of the State Government.
The ‘Go to Village’ mission which is scheduled to be launched on 1st May is a mission to bring about inclusive development and reach out to all the people of the State including those who are residing at the interior areas.
The Chief Minister urged the State Government officials to put in all the possible efforts to make the mission a success. He further added that the government officials should personally visit and organise camps at different villages to ensure enrolment of all the deserved villagers for Government’s social security scheme, and also to find out the area-specific needs of different villages.
The State Government is even ready to sanction additional funds for the said mission to meet manpower requirement and other necessities like procurement of vehicles etc.
He said that as the farming season is about to start in the State, Agriculture Department and other concerned departments should identify the area-specific farmers’ problems and help them in the best way possible.
The Chief Minister also asked the officials to communicate with the circle MLAs and DCs concerned and identify a village each for every district from which the mission would be launched on May 1.
