A bomb blast took place at Nagamapal RIMS road in Imphal early in the morning on Thursday, injuring a minor girl. The blast also damaged several shops in the vicinity, reports said.

According to eye witnesses who were out on the RIMS road early in the morning, the blast took place around 4:55 am. The impact of the blast has also created a huge crater in the spot where the bomb was planted.

A minor girl who happened to be in the area during the time of the blast was hit on the forehead by a broken glass pane caused by the impact of the blast. The injured girl was immediately rushed to a local hospital for treatment.
The culprit behind the blast is yet to be identified, police said, adding that investigation is underway.
