Manipur govt announces rehabilitation for children render orphan due to COVID

IMPHAL: N Biren Singh, Chief Minister of Manipur, has announced a scheme recently where it stated that the state will take care of children whose parents fell victim to COVID-19.

Under the scheme, the government to take care of those children whose both parents are battling Covid in the healthcare facilities or in case any child loses both his/her parents due to Covid.

The children will be covered under the scheme till they get the age of 18 years.

Children will be provided with education, food and accommodation, and other basic necessities under the scheme.

One may call at childline number 1098 to help any children in distress of the state or to inform about them.

The Manipur government has allotted 30 Child Care Institutions in the state, 2 each for boys and girls in 15 districts.

One can also register at manipur.mygov.in website as well.

On the other hand, the state government has decided to address the distress faced by COVID patients and launched CM’s COVID-19 Grievance Cell.

Two numbers are released for the same purpose as well -- 1800-3453-848 (toll-free) and 0385-2440079 - where one can lodge their grievance calls.
