Education Minister Shri Thokchom Radheshyam expressed his concern over the encroachment of the Government school’s land boundaries. He said that the school and all the infrastructures should be protected by each and every individual of the society as their own.
He asserted that the conditions of the Government schools are in a dilapidated condition and appealed to every stakeholder specially the students to come together for the upliftment of education. He stressed that school is like a holy place where students from different community come to get education.
Emphasizing on the importance to let the children dream big and not to pressurise them, he appealed to the guardians to encourage them to follow their dreams and so that they become innovators and inventors. The Minister was speaking as the chief guest at the Foundation Day Cum Meritorious Award Function at Indoor Stadium, Chandel of Naga Students’ Union under the theme ‘Honouring the Past, Treasuring the Present Shaping the Future’.
Th. Radheshyam said the theme is a very suitable, for it is the past that defines one’s identity and culture. He said the students should nurture their strength and overcome and work for the student’s welfare and society. He assured that with discussion with Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri N. Biren Singh will work for the betterment of the education and improvement of schools in hill districts as well. The Minister felicitated the meritorious students of the recently declared examination result from both the State and Central Board. Heads of seven primary government schools and L. Nabakumar Singh, Zonal Education Officer, Chandel were also felicitated for the improvements that have been brought in the Government schools of the district. The function was attended by Deputy Commissioner, Chandel District, Shri Krishna Kumar, concern officials, teachers, students and guardians.
