MANIPUR: ONE DEAD AND TWO HELD IN ENCOUNTER

An encounter was led between suspected armed cadres of United Tribal Liberation Front ULTA (P) and personnel of 37 AR in the intervening midnight of 10^th and 11^th June. One suspected ULTA cadre was shot dead and other cadres were arrested. Police teams including CDO have rushed into the spot for securing the place of occurrence and for inquest and other necessary procedure.

As per information, the encounter took place at 11:25 pm on 10^th June. The firing took place for about 5/10 minutes. The incident took place near Kuran Madrassa Ahmedabad under Jiribam police station. In that, a suspected cadre of UTLA (P) was killed, two other cadres were arrested, and two fled from the spot taking advantage of darkness. One pistol and one m16 have been recovered from them.
