IMPHAL: Manipur on Tuesday reported two cases of Black fungus in COVID-19 patients in the West Imphal district of the state.
Among the two patients, one 49-year-old man is at Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) while the other 45-year-old patient is hospitalized at a private hospital in Imphal.
All the hospitals, health care centres and clinics have been directed to report such cases, failing of which will attract actions against the current pandemic act, Dr K Sasheekumar, spokesperson of the state health department in a statement.

Manipur Chief Minister on Tuesday flagged off the “Aggressive Mass Covid-19 Testing drive” in Imphal West district.
“Under our guiding motto “Early Detection & Early Treatment,” we have launched the mass testing drive for Covid-19 in Imphal West today. We’re going all out to test as many as 3000-5000 people in the district itself. I appeal everyone to come out voluntarily to get yourself tested”, said the Chief Minister.
The state has asked the sitting MLAs of all the 60 seats to set up community isolation centres in their respective constituencies for accommodating COVID-19 patients.
