Manipur records 82 fresh Coronavirus cases in the past 24 hours. Among the 82 cases, 74 cases are from the general population which (includes 32 males and 32 females) and 8 personnel from the Central Armed Police Force (CAPF).
Out of the 74 general population, only 4 patients are returnees whereas rest 70 patients are locals without any significant travel history. All the Covid-19 positives have been shifted to the medical facilities and are been taken care of. The Government is currently taking all precautionary measures such as identifying the containment zones and contact tracing.
Meanwhile, Manipur’s social welfare and cooperation minister Nemcha Kipgen also tested positive for the novel coronavirus.

The state recorded two deaths in the last 24 hours taking the death toll to 24. The two deaths included two females who were 73years old and 41 years old. Both the patients last breathed at RIIMS due to Covid-19 and other co-morbid health conditions.
On the other hand with 99 recoveries, the recovery rate of the Covid-19 positive cases in Manipur reached 70.20 percent on Tuesday 25th August 2020.
The government of Manipur has also issued Unlock 3 guidelines which mentions continued ban on social/ political/ sports/ entertainment/ academic/ cultural/ religious functions and other congregations.
If the guidelines are violated, the penalties will be:
1) Rs1000/- for gathering in excess of the authorized numbers on ceremonies.
2) Failure to wear masks in a public place – Rs200/-
3) Failure to maintain social distancing in public places- Rs200/-
