MANIPUR: SUSPECTED KYKL MEMBER ARRESTED

Suspected member of Kanglei Yawol Kanna Lup (KYKL) , an terrorist outfit was arrested in Wangoo Manana area today.

Today i.e. on 29th April at around 12.30 am, after receiving   information from some reliable source that some active members of KYKL was loitering in and around wangoo mamang sabal area, for committing anti-social activities in the area, a combined team comprising of two mobile cdo/tbl(kcg) units golf 85 and golf 68 and a team of Wangoo ps and a column of 39 A R,  after informing superior officer(s), immediately rushed to the said area for searching and conducting checking on suspected persons. While conducting checking on passersby the team came across a person going towards Wangoo bazar. On seeing the police teams the person tried to run away but he was caught then and there. On verification the person identified himself as Wahengbam Ibungo @kiran Singh (45yrs) s/o W. Angou Singh of Bishnupur Mamang, ward no. 11,and he admitted that he is an active member of kykl outfit. On further questioning he stated that he joined the outfit in the year of 1992 and got 45 days basic military training at Mobai village Ukhrul, under 2nd batch with army no. 051. On further search on his body recovered one 9 mm pistol (country made bearing no. Nil) with 3 live rounds in the magazine concealed under his waist. A mobile handset (Lephone) with an airtel mobile no. 9383237423 was also recovered from his possession. Hence, the person was arrested at around 1:10 am from the spot and the items were seized accordingly. He has been handed over to Wangoo PS for further necessary action.
