MANIPUR: TEAM OF SPECIAL TASK FORCE ARRESTS ONE DRUG PEDDLER

In a combine search operation the special task force team of ASI Krishna Sharma and Narcotic cell of Jiribam district police assisted by JBM PS team led by SI Rameshwor Singh under the supervision of SDPO, JBM detained one truck at around 11 p.m in Chandrapur Oil pump. The team was carrying out routine frisking and checking at Chandrapur Oil pump where they detained the truck due to some discrepancies in challan.

532 bottles of Phensedyl (cough syrup) which were hidden inside Real juice packets were recovered from the truck. Thoudam Amu Singh (41), son of Th. Bijamani Singh of Khongjom Sapam Chingya Leikai Thoubal has been arrested in c/w the case. Further the Jiribam District Police is on vigil to check smuggling of any contraband items across the inter state border of Assam and Manipur.
