Two more Rohingyas have been arrested by the police from the border town of Moreh in the Tengnoupal district of Manipur. Md Shobik and his wife Arofa have been staying in the town for the past years and it is not known how they entered India. Three other Rohingyas, Mohammad Saifullah, Mohammad Salam and Nargis were arrested from the same town recently for their alleged involvement in human trafficking. According to the Police, the two men had confessed to their involvement in the crime.
The total tally of Rohingyas arrested from Moreh has gone up to eight. The couple arrested are believed to be residents of Buthidaung village, Rakhine state in Myanmar. A case has been registered against them under the Foreigners Act at the Moreh Police Station.
