The Union Ministry of Human Resource Development (HRD) has reconstituted the two-men enquiry commission to probe into the allegations of administrative and financial irregularities against Manipur University Vice-chancellor (VC) Adya Prasad Pandey.
While former acting Chief Justice of Meghalaya High Court T Nandakumar Singh has been made the commission’s Chairman, former Tezpur University VC Prof MK Choudhary will be its member.
In a notification issued on Friday, the HRD ministry also directed the probe panel to submit its report within one month.
The embattled Manipur University VC has also been asked to present himself, as and when required.
Classes in Manipur University have been disrupted for the past several weeks following faculty, staff and students of the varsity resorting to an indefinite stir demanding removal of Pandey, after accusing him of committing grossing administrative and financial irregularities.
The latest development is expected to end the current impasse.
