Social Welfare and Cooperation Minister, Smt Nemcha Kipgen today handed over various welfare schemes to the deserving beneficiaries of Kangpokpi District as part of the State Government ‘Khungang Chatse – Go to Village’ Mission held at Keithelmanbi Village, Champhai Sub-division.
With a sole motive to involve active participation of villagers in development activities of the government, the mission – Go to Village was launched today at Kangpokpi District by Minister Nemcha Kipgen, also the local MLA in the presence of Commissioner, Social Welfare and the Nodal officer of this mission for Kangpokpi District, Shri H. Deleep Singh, Deputy Commissioner, Kangpokpi, Shri M.J. Pradip Chandren, distinguished invitees and beneficiaries of various schemes.
As part of the ‘Go to Village’ mission, old age pension (Social Welfare Department), water tanks (TA & Hills Department), books to children with special needs (Education Department), ration cards (CAF & PD), Smart cards for Chief Ministergi Hakshelgi Tengbang, Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (CAF & PD ), UJALA (Unnat Jyoti by Affordable Lighting for All) Scheme etc. were distributed to the beneficiaries today. Ayushman Bharat, National Health Protection Scheme, which will cover over 10 crore poor and vulnerable families (approximately 50 crore beneficiaries) providing coverage upto 5 lakh rupees per family per year for secondary and tertiary care hospitalization, were also flagged off.
Addressing the gatherings, Minister Nemcha expressed that this mission of the government will bring inclusive development by reaching out to all the people of the state including those who are residing at the most interior parts of the state.
Through this mission, the welfare schemes will reach the right beneficiaries at their doorsteps by organizing camps at different villages to ensure timely enrolment of all the deserved villagers for government’s social security schemes.
Nemcha further encouraged all to take this opportunity to avail state and centrally sponsored schemes like Chief Ministergi Shotharabasingi Tengbang (CMST), Chief Minister gi Hakshelgi Tengbang (CMST), etc. and urged them to take benefits from the stall/kiosks of various departments opened at the venue to get information about welfare schemes that are being taken up by the Government. To avail various schemes, essential documents like Aadhar, AAY card, BPL card, bank details, etc. are required, she informed.
Highlighting the various schemes, Nemcha instructed the masses to stay alert and get up-to-date information about all such schemes through different forms of media like newspaper, radio, Television and new media.
