Manipur Chief Minister N. Biren Singh has said that the state government has collected Rs 831 crore as revenue in the current financial year. The revenue target for the next financial year is Rs 948 crore, he added. Singh was speaking one day ahead of the first anniversary of the Bharatiya Janata Party-led coalition government in Manipur. He attributed the higher revenue collection to the introduction of the Goods and Services Tax and revenue from forest products. The Chief Minister said his government was focusing on development projects and is all for balanced development of both the hills and the valley. Special emphasis is being laid on having a corruption-free government in Manipur, he added.
