MANIPUR: SHORTAGE OF WATER AT THOUBAL KHUNOU

Shortage of water is a major crisis.

The negligence of the State Government over the years the village of Thoubal Khunou has been severely underdeveloped regions of Manipur. The entire population of the village is facing severe hardship in all major areas. The main hardship is the shortage of water. The lack of rivers in the area is also an additional matter of concern for the villagers especially during winter season.

Although the Public Health Engineering Department (PHED) has initiated a water supply scheme in 2010 and a reservoir tank and generator room have already been constructed as part of the project, no pipelines have been laid till date.

The ponds in the village also dry up in winter which only aggravates the problem. The water supply scheme need to be initiated for the development works in the village at the earliest.
