Stretch of road in Manipur to be named after Mary Kom

Guwahati, December 14, 2018:

A stretch of a road in Manipur capital Imphal will be renamed after legendary boxer MC Mary Kom.

The Imphal West DC Road, which leads to National Village, will soon be renamed after the six-time world champion.

Chief Minister N Biren Singh recently tweeted: “Magnificent Mary @MangteC felicitated by the State Government today giving her the title “Mee-Thoi Leima” and naming a road by her name in Imphal West and giving an incentive of Rs.10 lacs. Wish her all the very best in the Olympics Games 2020”.
