Women of the age-old all-women Ima Keithel market staged a demonstration outside the residence of Manipur Governor Najma Heptullah in the afternoon on Thursday over apprehensions regarding the 'final Naga solution'.
The women of Ima Keithel have also submitted a memorandum to the Governor stating that the territorial integrity of Manipur should not be compromised.
They have also been carrying placards with messages such as: "Territorial integrity of Manipur cannot be compromised", "final solution must not go against the collective wish of the people of Manipur", "no Community based arrangement in the final solution", "final solution of the Framework Agreement should not impinge upon the interest of Manipur" etc.

A campaign has been spearheaded by Co-ordinating Committee on Manipur Integrity (COCOMI) formed by major CSOs of the State (AMUCO, CCSK, HERICOUN, LIPUN and UCM) as a preemptive measures in view of the final solution of the 22 years long political dialogue between GoI and NSCN (IM).
Yesterday, a sit-in protest was jointly organized by Lumlangdong Apunba Nupi Lup and Lumlangdong Ima Keithel Development Committee at Bishnupur market.
It may be mentioned that the Government's interlocutor R N Ravi has set a deadline of 31 October for signing the final agreement. Because of that, apprehensions are running high in Manipur as the public fears that the 'final solution' may disintegrate or compromise the territorial integrity of the State.
