A time bomb exploded this morning at around 5.20 am at Viewland Market at Ukhrul Bazaar in Manipur.
As per reports, the incident occurred in the shop of one non-local businessman named 'Makhan'.
However, the local police have confirmed that no one has been injured in the explosion. No militant group has claimed responsibility for the bomb attack so far.
It may be mentioned that Ukhrul is the district headquarters of Manipur’s Ukhrul district which borders Myanmar in the east, and is predominately inhabited by the Tangkhul Naga tribes.
The Nationalist Socialist Council of Nagalim (Isaak-Muivah) leader Thuingaleng Muivah hails from the Ukhrul district.
Further details are awaited.
