The Zelianrong Civil Organisations (ZCOs) said that two individuals who were detained by the National Socialist Council of Nagaland-Isak Muivah (NSCN-IM) since 6th September, 2018 on the alleged charge of involvement on assault on AMSU leaders and extortion incident that occured on 3rd September at Nungba Bazar were not involved in any such case but were rather involved in a different case.
The Media and Publicity Cell of the ZCOs informed that the two individuals were involved in an incident on 4th of September, 2018.
The ZCOs informed that in its finding, the two individuals were learnt to be fully drunk on 4th September, 2018 and involved in different incident.
It occured when trucks coming from Imphal splashed dirty water on their shirt following which the two individuals stopped the trucks, impersonated NSCN-IM cadres and took money for their shirt being dirty out of anger.
However, these two were detained when the trucks moved up towards Nungba but were stopped by NSCM (IM) cadres who were informed that tax was already paid up ahead to the two individuals. They were, however, released later, the ZCOs informed.
