AISF Manipur stages protest rally, demands justice for Khongban Sunurok attack

The All India Students Federation (AISF), Manipur State Council, staged a protest rally condemning the prolonged crisis in Manipur and demanding justice for the victims of the recent attack at Khongban Sunurok that claimed three lives and left three others injured.

The protesting students attempted to march towards the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) office from the AISF office. However, a confrontation broke out between security personnel and protesters near Kangla Gate, following which several students were detained by police.

One of the student protesters said the continued crisis had caused deep distress among the people of Manipur, criticising the government for what he described as a lack of sincerity in resolving the conflict.

He said the recent attack at Khongban Sunurok, in which three people were killed and three others injured, had further disheartened people across the state.

“How long will the people of the state have to endure such painful moments?” the protester asked, calling on the state government to take steps to ensure lasting peace and restore normalcy in Manipur.
