Amit Shah likely to visit Manipur in October, date yet to be finalised: CM Khemchand

Union Home Minister Amit Shah is likely to visit Manipur this month, but the exact date of his visit has not yet been finalised, Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh said on October 6.

Speaking to reporters at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat in Imphal, Khemchand said Shah was expected to visit the state sometime in October.

“The Union Home Minister is likely to visit Manipur in October, but the exact date is not known yet,” the chief minister said.

Khemchand was responding to questions from the media during a press conference held after a Cabinet meeting.

The press conference was organised primarily to highlight the Manipur Cabinet’s expression of gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his 25 years of public service and to outline various initiatives and development projects undertaken during his tenure.

The chief minister and government spokesperson Sapam Ranjan Singh highlighted several projects and initiatives in Manipur, as well as broader development measures cited by the state government.

The proposed visit by Shah comes amid the ongoing efforts of the Centre and the state government to address issues concerning Manipur and advance development initiatives in the state.

Further details of the Home Minister’s proposed programme are expected to be announced once the schedule is finalised.
