In the wake of Chief Minister N Biren Singh’s resignation, the National People’s Party (NPP) has officially withdrawn its support from his government, citing his failure to restore peace and normalcy in the state.
Sheikh Noorul Hassan, Working President of the NPP, confirmed the party’s stance, stating, “NPP has withdrawn support from N Biren Singh’s government. We do not believe in his leadership because of his failure to restore normalcy and peace in Manipur. His resignation from the CM post is a welcome step towards restoring peace and normalcy in the state.”
Despite distancing itself from Singh’s leadership, the NPP reaffirmed its commitment to the National Democratic Alliance (NDA). Hassan emphasized that the party remains aligned with the NDA at the Centre and will continue working alongside the BJP to bring stability to Manipur. “We are a part of the NDA alliance at the Centre, and we will always cooperate and work with the BJP as part of NDA to bring normalcy to the state,” he added.
