As political uncertainty continues to grip Manipur, BJP central leader and North East in-charge Sambit Patra held another round of discussions with state MLAs at Hotel Imphal. These meetings, which began yesterday February 10, are being conducted selectively with key political figures to address the evolving situation.
Among those who met with Patra today were ministers and MLAs, including Sapam Ranjan, K. Ibomcha, Sheikh Noorul Hassain, Sapam Kunjeswar, and Minister Th. Biswajit. The discussions reportedly centered on strategies to restore peace in the state.
Following his meeting with Patra, Sapam Keba addressed the media, stating, "All decisions will be made by the party high command. The primary focus of the discussions was peace restoration, and we urged the Centre to take steps towards stabilizing the state. A decision on the way forward is expected in the coming days."
When questioned about the possibility of appointing a new chief minister, Keba clarified, "That topic was not discussed."
Echoing similar sentiments, BJP MLA K. Ibomcha emphasized that "everything is in the hands of the Centre, and we cannot comment on political changes. Our primary request to the leadership is to bring peace to Manipur."
Meanwhile, Forest Minister Th. Biswajit also held a separate meeting with Patra at Hotel Imphal on Tuesday. Speaking to the media, Biswajit reiterated that the discussions focused solely on measures to restore peace in the state.
With growing concerns over the political landscape, all eyes remain on the BJP central leadership’s next move in addressing the crisis.
