Hand grenade explodes at Oil Pump in Manipur’s Thoubal, no casualties reported

Unidentified persons allegedly hurled a hand grenade at Sorojini Oil Pump near Khangabok under Thoubal Police Station on the evening of August 29, triggering an explosion at around 6:30 pm.

According to information received, the unidentified miscreants allegedly arrived in a car travelling from Wangjing towards Thoubal before hurling the grenade at the oil pump.

The grenade reportedly exploded near an oil tanker parked inside the oil pump complex. No casualties have been reported so far.

The incident has raised concerns as oil pumps at different locations had reportedly witnessed similar incidents in the past, including cases where unidentified persons allegedly planted explosive devices.
