<p>“I really feel sad. I don't know how to express it. I am very upset. I always read news about Northeast people being killed in mainland India. I will say it is a cowardly and inhuman act. I read news about the killing and assault of Northeast people, and today the news is about my own son,” Vikram’s mother, Chongtham Ongbi Kamala, said.</p>

<p>Kamala, 86, is a well-known singer in Manipur and has also served as a senior announcer with All India Radio.</p>

<p>She said she did not want to make any political demands following her son’s death and would accept the outcome of the investigation.</p>

<p>“I don't want to make any demand to the government. Politics is a dirty game. I had even discouraged my husband from getting involved in politics. Don't make any demand that will be related to politics,” she said.</p>

<p>“I love people, so I don't want to demand anything and also don't want to say to take any action because my son was killed. Whatever the investigation result says, I will be satisfied,” Kamala added.</p>

<p>Vikram, 54, died in Delhi after he was allegedly assaulted by a group of delivery workers and dhaba staff outside his residence in Kilokari on September 7. Delhi Police have arrested seven men and apprehended a juvenile in connection with the case.</p>
