Manipur BJP MLA meets Governor, seeks support for Thanga Constituency

Amid ongoing efforts to restore peace and development in Manipur, BJP MLA T Robindro Singh met Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla on Monday to discuss key issues affecting his constituency and the broader state.

Speaking to reporters after the meeting, Singh said, “I met the Governor at 11:50 AM today. I told him about some of the problems we are facing in my constituency—Thanga Assembly constituency. We had some long-pending demands.”

While specific demands were not publicly disclosed, sources suggest that infrastructure gaps, livelihood concerns, and displaced families were among the topics discussed.

The Thanga MLA also highlighted the urgent need to restore normalcy in Manipur, which has seen bouts of unrest and tension over the past year.

“We also spoke about bringing back normalcy to the state as soon as possible,” Singh added, expressing optimism that the Governor would take note of the issues raised.

The meeting is part of a larger dialogue between state legislators and Raj Bhavan, aimed at bridging local grievances with central administrative responses.

Governor Bhalla, who assumed office earlier this year, has held several rounds of consultations with various stakeholders to chart a path toward stability and reconciliation in the state.

This engagement comes at a critical time when Manipur is focusing on peacebuilding, community outreach, and rebuilding public trust in governance.

Singh’s outreach signals a continued push from elected representatives to bring local concerns directly to the highest constitutional authority in the state.
